Deer Creek Express

This scenic 90 minute trip offers incredible views of the Wasatch Back Mountains, the wide-open vistas of Deer Creek Reservoir, and the beautiful Heber Valley. The Deer Creek Express departs from the depot, follows the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir to Decker Bay (about 7 track miles), and returns.

A box lunch can be ordered for the 1pm - at least 24 hours before.

Snacks are available for purchase in the depot prior to boarding and on board the train.

NOTICE: If you are joining other family or friends on the train, and they have purchased separate tickets, and you want to sit near each other in the same train coach, you must call the ticket office and make arrangements prior to the day of your scheduled train! Call 435.654.5601

The Deer Creek Express runs most Mondays & Thursdays - Saturdays until June 1st. From June - September Wednesdays are added.

Departs at 3:30pm and returns at approximately 5:00pm

Regular Fares:

$30.00 - Adult (age 12+) Coach General Admission

$20.00 - Child (age 2-11) Coach General Admission - Children 1 and under do not need a ticket.

First Class: - $90.00

Enjoy a generous individually served selection of local and imported cheeses, artisan meats, seasonal fruits, and gourmet jams and spreads. Each First Class guest also receives a soft drink, glass of wine or beer(21 and over - must show ID) or bottled water as part of the experience. Crafted for a relaxed and elegant rail experience aboard the train. An optional box lunch can also be ordered - see below.

Rent the Red Caboose! Seats up to 12 people. $600.00 Must call the ticket office and reserve 24 hours before.

The Red Caboose is not available in the winter months.

*Lunch option must be ordered 24-hours before departure. Delicious boxed lunch includes sandwich with your choice of a ham, turkey, roast beef, vegetarian or a gluten-friendly lettuce wrap; cookie, chips, and bottled water.

With historic train equipment we have to occasionally take cars out of service unexpectedly for maintenance or repairs. This may require us to change the coach or class of service you purchased a ticket for. Please be understanding if this happens to you!
